I have made this fudge multiple times and it never fails to impress family and friends with its smooth texture and rich flavor
Ingredients
- Sweetened condensed milk: 400 g (14 oz)
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips: 340 g (12 oz)
- Unsalted butter: 60 g (4 tbsp), cut into pieces
- Pure vanilla extract: 1 tsp
- Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional): 60 g (½ cup)
- Pinch of sea salt (optional): for sprinkling
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Line a 20 cm (8-inch) square baking pan with parchment paper leaving some overhang for easy removal
- Step 2:
- In a medium saucepan over low heat combine the sweetened condensed milk chocolate chips and butter Stir constantly until the chocolate and butter are melted and the mixture is smooth
- Step 3:
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract Fold in nuts if using
- Step 4:
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula
- Step 5:
- If desired sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top
- Step 6:
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set
- Step 7:
- Lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment overhang Cut into 24 squares and serve
